Dynamic Conversations: Can Schooling Be Educative When Teaching Is a Grind?
Jack Schneider is the Dwight W. Allen Distinguished Professor and Director of the Center for Education Policy at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. An award-winning scholar and teacher, Dr. Schneider researches the influence of politics, rhetoric, culture, and information in shaping attitudes and behaviors. As Director of the Center for Education Policy, he oversees the Beyond Test Scores Project, the Massachusetts Consortium for Innovative Education Assessment, and the Education Commonwealth Project.
Dr. Schneider is the author of six books and numerous articles. His most recent book, The Education Wars: A Citizen’s Guide and Defense Manual, was co-authored with Jennifer Berkshire and explores how public education can survive our modern culture wars. In addition to academic writing, Dr. Schneider has published extensively in public outlets like The Atlantic, The New York Times, and The Washington Post.
